What I've Been Doing
I've been gone from the Internet a little bit. Well, not quite gone, because I always keep in touch with my iPhone. But my iPhone limits me with what I can do. Basically, I am very busy at work. Can't goof off much anymore. For three years, I didn't have a supervisor, so the work didn't trickle in. Consequently, I had a lot of time to goof. Last year, just before my heart was attacked by that damn virus, we were finally awarded a supervisor. I really like her a lot. She is fair, nice, and keeps us busy. Something that I truly don't mind. An example of her fairness is how she treated me when I came back from my 5-month sick leave. She gave me work in small amounts. She didn't tax me much. But now that I can handle it, she piles it on. So, the Internet surfing suffers.

Almost a year after my heart was attacked by a virus, my computer was attacked by a virus. It is totally out of commission. I had just bought a laptop, and I now used it as my at-home computer. When my son has the time, we will reformat my hard drive (its 1Tb big) and restart from scratch. My son has devised a method that will allow me to save all my noninfected items off of the hard drive. So, I won't lose my stuff. All I will need is to reenter all my programs. And to add insult to injury, my web server, which houses my many websites (my husband's personal business site, my basset hound rescue site, the Michael Ermerson website, my son and daughter-in-law's site, and my newly formed, not-yet launched spicedogs, among others, went kablunk. The server just died. All the data are gone. Although, once again, son claims that he will be able to recoop them, but it will take time.

I rebuilt the Michael Emerson and the basset hound rescue sites. They are up and running. So, that took time. Then LOST was on. That took time. Then LOST was off and I had to mourn it's loss. Speaking of mourning, Basil passed on the Rainbow Bridge, so I had mourn him. Meghan needed to be loved. So that took time. And today, I looked at my LJ and saw that it is mostly filled with my Tweets. That's so horrible.

TV Shows

Anyway, now that LOST is gone, Glee is on hiatus, and my comedy shows are on hiatus as well, I have no TV shows to watch. So, I resorted to watch True Blood. I just marathoned Seasons 1 and 2. I was not that thrilled with Season 1; but Season 2 was hilarious. It reminded me of a bad horror movie that was so bad and campy that it was actually fun to watch. If I am offending the true lovers of True Blood, I apologize. I'm not sure whether Alan Ball is trying to make a serious Vampire show, or he is doing exactly what I am perceiving, a spoof of those horror shows. But in any event, I enjoyed Season 2 a lot. There's a bit too much uncalled  nudity; but that's the mark of being an HBO show and definitely a lot of gore. However, I actually caught some good messages too: Tolerance. We need to tolerate people who are different from us. I need to watch the two episodes of Season 3, and I will be up to date with everybody now.

Carrie Preston (Michael Emerson's wife) is in the show. She is funny as anything. She has good comedic timing. I don't know whether her part was supposed to be funny. If it was not, she did a great job in turning it into a comedic role. She certainly made a small role noticeable. I was laughing so hard at one scene wherein the characters were zombified by this supernatural creature and all the characters were engaged in orgies. There was Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston's character), fully clothed and humping away on her partner. Everybody else was nude, but not her. I gave her kudos for having no-nudity clause in her contract. I just read an article about her and her fashion sense and there she explains her philosophy:

I think the rule there is to leave some things to the imagination; it's sexier.

I left you a link to read the article. It talks about her fashion sense and her up-coming projects. Where I'm going with this is that, her fashion sense tells us a lot of her own philosophical sense and what she will or will not do on stage. Anyway, kudos for her.

Family

This past week, miss_sophia  and her husband went out and I babysat Meghan. Meghan was totally distraught not having her mother there. She woke up from a late nap, mommy and daddy weren't there. She cried and cried for a long half hour. Then she calmed down. I took her outside and we looked at fireflies, the moon, and at some point I saw this stag beetle:

Stag beetles are not aggressive towards humans, although they do look nasty. Meghan spent a good portion of the evening playing with my iPhone.

This is it for now. Hubby, mom, and I are going clothes shopping, dinner, and maybe a movie. When I come back, I may do my LOST Meme. I am so behind with it.

I hope you are all well.

Girl, that's why I *love* True Blood. It doesn't require me to be philosophical or thinky or ANYTHING. It's just tv on crack with vampires and werewolves - AND NONE OF THEM SPARKLE ;)

I guess I didn't understand it when it first came out. LOL. I am thoroughly enjoying it now.

I don't apologize for liking some shows that aren't all about angst, etc. You know how into politics I am, and this year has been a dismal year for world events. I love that we can escape to this crazy fictional land once a week :D

BIG hugs. I miss you being online as frequently, but I understand. I just hope we get to meet in person some day!

I enjoy TB because it makes me laugh, not many shows actually do that. TB and Supernatural are shows I enjoy watchig nafter a hard day- you don't have to concentrate too much and can just enjoy it for what it is. Plus, A Skars tends to show off his bare ass a lot which is also good.

That beetle looks like the killer bug that spits lava in Starship Troopers
