Health update: going home

My body is doing a great job at healing itself. Although my legs are heavily filled with liquids, I can walk a bit. Unfortunately, I have a horrible rash on my back, which apparently is an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and the detergent used in the linens. My doctor just ordered special linens for my bed. Sleeping is just a horrendous deal.

On the upside, I'm no longer in need of oxygen and will be discharged tomorrow morning. I'm going to be with my daughter (miss_sophia) for a while and later going home for at-home therapy. Once my heart is stronger, I'll be undergoing cardiotherapy. It will be a few months before I'll go back to work.

Aside from this mysterious illness, I was diagnosed with Clostridium difficile, better known as C-Diff, a bacteria that causes severe diarrhea and other intestinal disease when competing bacteria in the gut flora have been wiped out by antibiotics. I'm taking a special antibiotic, have to make sure to wash my hands thoroughly, and use hand sanitizer.

But all in all, I'm happy. I'm going home tomorrow and will enjoy the best medicine ever, my grandchildren. My granddaughter has already picked all the movies she wants to watch with me.
